This week I once again repeated my usual training of two 5ks
during the week and a longer run at the weekend. For both the short runs I went around
Horsham park and was aiming for race pace at about 7:30 minutes per mile. This was easily achieved, with both runs
being just a bit quicker than on target.

For my long run I planned on going 10 miles around the
streets, aiming for 7:30 minute miles. I
started off to quickly by running a sub 7 minute mile, so had to slow it down
and concentrate on my pacing. After a
loop around the park I managed to keep well on pace, running the next 5 miles
between 7:22 and 7:44. However for the
last four miles my pace dropped a bit to around 8 minute miles. In the end I averaged a pace of 7:38, which
is only slightly over my target pace so I felt happy with the run.
