I'm combining these two runs together as they're both on the same route, shown here. As with a lot of my runs they were along the banks of the river, with boats paddling up and down. The difference to usual is that instead of being in Cambridge, I was in Guildford. With the nights starting to close in I don't have time to drive home and then run, so instead I'm going into Guildford straight from work and making the most of the daylight left.
Fortunately our work cycle ride was down a lovely riverside path, that leads onto the down's link. Yes I've managed to find the down's link again. Two miles takes me just onto it, and acts as a nice marker.
In the first run I felt awful, I was carrying a lot of aches from Barns Green particularly in my quads. I did 3.64 miles, averaging a little under 9 min/mile.
The second run was much better, the morning of the third October was the first time that week I felt properly awake when I got out of bed. The run itself was much more comfortable, although I didn't have my GPS watch with me due to a dead battery, total time for 4 miles was 33:46.
