Hi all,
I know this update is 3 days late but as I only did the actual run yesterday I couldn't really update sooner. This probably isn't going to be an uncommon occurrence but I'll try to stick to the plan as best I can.
Anyway, today was the first time that I've run for over an hour and a half, the plan was just to start a one hour timer and then see how far I got, then turn round and come back. The idea is that as well as helping to improve my endurance it will also force me to pace runs. In the end I turned around 3 minutes early and got back 6 minutes early, so I'm pretty pleased with that. In addition the whole run felt very sustainable, so hopefully if I'd tried to maintain the pace it would have been possible for a little while at least.
Having just mapped it, it's actually only 13 miles, which explains why it felt so sustainable. Obviously I need to be able to cover that sort of distance in about an hour and a 40 minutes by the time it comes to doing the actual marathon. Map here: http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/39396704/
Next run will most likely be in Cornwall, probably on Monday.
Keep donating,
Nick
