Hi all,
I'd like to say that I didn't update in the past few weeks because I've been in Cornwall without my laptop. While that's true I also only went running once so there wouldn't have been much point in an update. I'd like to think all the time spent playing in the sea counted, but honestly I don't think it quite measures up, O well.
Tonight I went for a proper run though, using the route that I ran all of last summer in order to get fit originally. As such even with such a long break I still managed to follow it without getting lost, no mean feat considering the many wrong turns available. Anyway, map available here: http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/20351224/
The main thing that's noticeable about this run is the change in terrain as you go along. It starts on nice clear footpaths, switches to fields and then finishes on a wooded track. Thanks to the recent rain (including a pleasant drizzle during the run) this track isn't as firm underfoot as it was last summer, which combined with various low branches and fallen logs can be a tad hazardous. I'll be very pleased if I get to august without falling over, and I promise I'll let you all know (possibly with pictures) if I do.
I also managed to scare an old lady about 1/2 a mile after the turn-around who didn't hear me running up behind and so was quite surprised by the breathless "evening" I mumbled as I ran past. So sorry to her if she ever see's this.
I'm hoping to run this route quite a few times over the next few weeks, so may not update after every run, or may use those posts for other, more general, topics (like fundraising http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/NicholasWilliams90 ). Hopefully going for another run tomorrow, so should be an update then.
Bye all,
Nick
