31st March

31st March 2013

Distance (Miles): 7.51
Time (mm:ss): 58:02
Pace (min/mile): 07:43

I can't remember doing this run. It looks like it starts in Southwater, and heads north. I must have been running with Harry again. This is the run where we connected up the two parts of the down's link near my house.

One section is straight across the fields from my house (I realise that's a completely useless description but it's the only way I can describe it). From here it goes near a farm where I would normally lose it to avoid the road and head down a footpath instead. I would then go through some woods and end up at Christ's Hospital. At Christ's the downs link heads to Southwater and through the country park, but up to this day I had never connected the two properly.

It turns out if I'd gone 100m down the road I'd have realised exactly where I was, but I had never done so. The two parts of the downs link I knew were so close to each other you can see them from one point. I guess the moral of this story is not to stick to the same routes time after time, going right instead of left just once can open up loads of new options.
