Unfortunately my watch died before my second run of the week. I say unfortunately but actually I was happy to run without the technology, especially as I wasn't chasing a pace. It was probably a good job I wasn't trying to maintain my usual speed, as with the terrain this hilly with added steps it would have been nigh on impossible.
My first run was anti-clockwise around the coast, while the second was clockwise. Both of these were similarly undulating, and particularly on the Thursday. I did approximately 20 minutes each time, then turned around and headed back. Both ended up a few minutes short, but I really wasn't that bothered. Thursday had the added delight of being misty and cool. Despite being on the coast path there were times I couldn't see the sea due to the thick mist, and I think I gave a few walkers a bit of a shock in my bright orange Team Wedge T-shirt.
While these runs weren't as easy as planned they did provide some really good hill work, and got me well prepared for the undulating course of Barns Green on the 29th. Considering most of the work I've done since being injured has been almost flat this gives me a lot of confidence for the race, and the long slog from Dragon's Green.
27 miles to go...
